Madden 13 Strategy: Don't Play Nice!

One of the biggest reasons people lose games that they shouldn't lose is because they play too nice. In fact, this is one of the big reasons I don't talk on my mic when I'm playing on Xbox Live. I'm too nice, and if I'm playing someone who speaks well of me online, then I change my game plan.

Do you know how many times I've lost a game because I played too nice? Too many times. Today, I want to show you 3 reasons why playing too nice is going to put you in the hole quick. If your goal is to win, then pay close attention to this post. Otherwise, if you don't care about winning, well, then this probably isn't for you.

As I discuss on my Madden 13 Strategy Guide website, playing nice is a huge mistake. In fact, it's such a big mistake, that it is mistake #1 of 3 on today's biggest Madden 13 mistakes list.

If your goal is to rank well in Madden, do note play nice. I don't know if you've ever done this, but for example: There was a couple of times where I didn't go for it on 4th down, when I normally would have gone for it... However, because I felt like I was being "more sim" if I had punted the football, I punted instead.

What happens next?

My opponent comes out on offense, and runs a glitch play the very first play he's back on the field. Again, the key to remember here is that you're trying to win the game. Yes. Playing with sportsmanship is one thing, and is 100% recommended, but playing too nice is a completely different story; Just don't do it.

The #2 mistake that a lot of guys make is running the ball on the second play of the game. I know this really doesn't seem like much of a mistake, but think about it; How much more likely is someone to blitz on the first play of the game, as opposed to the second or third play? Always start off with a short pass across the middle. This is the least expected, and easiest way to keep your opponent on his or her toes early.

Lastly, one of the biggest mistakes that you can make, and what falls into mistake #3 on our list is not doing what is working over and over again. If something is working, don't just stop doing it because your opponent is complaining. Unless you're glitching, you can do whatever you want to do. If your opponent doesn't like it, that's clearly their problem.

Remember these tips. While you're playing Madden 13 this year, you need to remember this simple strategy. By the way, if you haven't already done so, be sure to click here to checkout my Madden 13 Official Strategy Guide website. I'll be coming at you with many more tips, so stay tuned.
